# Secret Messages

NiftyBOT Secrets allow you to create messages and send them to people, these messages are stored inside NiftyBOT and protected by **a** **Captcha, a password, a payment, or all at once!**

It also allows users to **Subscribe** to you, allowing them to get a DM whenever you post a secret message **(The DM contains a link to the message, not the content!)**

## Usecases:

* Protecting your messages from discord mirror bots.
* Gaining income from your alpha **(SPL/SOL payments supported)**
* Restricting messages to specific people using a password.

There have been many projects lately that siphon contents from other servers, these bots monitor channels in these servers and steal contents to a 3rd party discord server, this hurts your project because people don't need to buy your NFT to access your community anymore.

## Subscriptions

This feature allows users to subscribe to a member in your server, whenever they post a message, all their subscribers will receive a **DM** with a link to the post.

## Usage

### Adding authors

You must be added as an admin inside nifty using <mark style="background-color:purple;">**/admin add**</mark> before you can add authors

You must add an author before they can use secret messages!
{% endhint %}

Type <mark style="background-color:purple;">**/secret author**</mark> to add a new author, just choose the user you like to add as a user, and they will be added.

### Resending Secret Messages

Type <mark style="background-color:purple;">**/secret resend**</mark>**&#x20;and select the channel to send in,** then select your message from the dropdown list, and click it to resend it.

You can have the message resent in multiple channels, all of them will work, and when you update the message, it will update all the messages in all the channels recursively.

### Updating Secret Messages

You can update your message's content and it will reflect in all the messages previously sent.

Type <mark style="background-color:purple;">**/secret edit**</mark> and select your message from the dropdown list, click it to update it.

The bot will update all the messages in all the channels recursively.

### Deleting Secret Messages

Type <mark style="background-color:purple;">**/secret delete**</mark> and select your message from the dropdown list, click it to delete it.

You also have the option to delete the message from the channels as well.
